Golfer\'s Elbow

What is golfer’s elbow?

Golfer’s elbow, or medial epicondylitis, is inflammation of the tendons in the inner portion of the elbow. This is caused by excessive force of the wrist when repetitively swinging a golf club. The elbow often feels stiff and can be noticed in the forearm as well. The hand and fingers may feel weak.

How can a chiropractor help with golfers elbow?

Here at JP Chiropractic in West Ashley Charleston, SC, our doctor of chiropractic can manipulate the elbow joint for proper joint mobility and movement. This will allow the tendons to relax and inflammation to decrease. The wrist can also be adjusted if one has pain occurring in the wrist as well. We can utilize electrical stimulation, when placed on the affected area, electric currents of high voltage are sent through the muscle which will cause them to contract overall decreasing inflammation and swelling to calm the muscles down, improve circulation, and promote healing. Our doctor can also recommend stretches and exercises that will help to mobilize the joint and strengthen the muscles surrounding the elbow joint.
